Description

This course synthesizes theoretical knowledge and practice skills acquired from core and specialty focus courses. Recognizing the potential interplay of legal, economic, political, regulatory, educational, health and/or ethical factors, the student identifies a problem related to their specialty focus (educator, administrator, or nurse practitioner) that is amenable to an evidence-based intervention. In this course, the student will develop a PICOT question, search the literature, and evaluate evidence-based interventions that would address the identified problem with the guidance of a master's or doctorate-prepared preceptor or faculty chair. The student then wrote a proposal for implementation of a project utilizing the evidence collected. In this final course for the project, students will complete the final scholarly paper and disseminate the process and plan for outcome evaluation in a presentation.
