    Description

    This course incorporates current methodologies and materials for teaching structured literacy in the elementary classroom (reading, writing, speaking, viewing, and listening) and assessing student progress. Attention is given to evidenced-based instructional strategies that meet the needs of all learners including those with special needs (including dyslexia), English Language Learners, and learners with socio-economic challenges. Candidates will demonstrate ability to use evidenced-based strategies to plan, implement, and assess language arts learning experiences that engage all students in critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative problem solving for elementary students incorporating technology and global themes.
