Description

An introduction to basic statistics. Course topics include: sampling techniques, classification of variables, measures of central tendency, measures of dispersion, measures of relative standing, probability distributions, discrete and continuous distributions, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, correlation, regression, and Chi-Square tests, and non-parametric tests. Students must have access to online textbook.
Prerequisite: MA 114 or MA 115 or MA 135 with a grade of ā€œC’ or higher OR a minimum score of 23 on the ACT math exam, OR a score above 265 on the Next Generation Accuplacer math placement exam. The prerequisite must have been completed within the last 3 years (10 years for RN-BSN students); otherwise, students must complete MA 114 or MA 115 or MA 135 with a grade of ā€œCā€ or higher or take the Next Generation Accuplacer math placement exam.
