    Description

In this course, students examine the sports literature genre: literature with artistic merit and intellectual value centered on the topic of sports. Students examine success and failure, character and character building, conflict, emotion, and experience found in sports literature and sports figures, both fictional and non-fictional. Students also examine the transformative elements of sports in both individuals and in society. Literature includes a sampling of poems, songs, autobiographies, biographies, essays, newspaper articles, short stories, documentaries, films, and speeches.
