Description

Expansion of previously learned examination and treatment techniques utilized with the pediatric patient population, stressing the integration of knowledge and skills based on evidence-based practice. With supervision, students will have the opportunity to work with an assigned infant/child on a weekly basis outside of class time. This clinical experience will enable students to further develop assessment and intervention strategies, develop plans of care, progress therapeutic activities, communicate with pediatric team members, recommend adaptive equipment as appropriate, document treatments, develop goals, and assess progress. The course will also expand on working with other pediatric professionals such as occupational therapists and speech language pathologists. Students will learn strategies to incorporate therapeutic treatment strategies that addresses all areas of development. Students will share their clinical experience by presenting a case study to help the other students exp
