Spec Topics: Community Care (DPT 700A)

Description

This course provides students an opportunity to provide pro bono physical therapy services to the local community. Through the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, students will perform physical therapy evaluations, create plans of care, and implement treatments for patients of various conditions throughout the term. Students will be tested on their knowledge and skills to manage simple and complex patients with all diagnoses in the physical therapy scope of practice. In this elective course, students will address health inequities and social determinants of health to provide physical therapy services to meet underserved patients' needs.
