Description

Building on to Neuroanatomy, this course is designed to provide the student with further information about the function and interrelationship of the different structures of the nervous system. This course will also cover the physiology, molecular biology and psychology to understand the fundamental properties of neurons and neural structures so that the student can apply it to the management of patients with neurological problems and in particular to their rehabilitation. Systems that govern movement, posture, coordination, balance, cognition, sensory integration, and so on will be emphasized. Students will be expected to recall and apply information from previous coursework, majorly neuroanatomy in a clinically relevant manner. Presentation of course material will primarily take place in classroom with laboratory activities incorporated.
