Description
This course offers an in-depth coverage of basic, applied, and clinical aspects of visceral anatomy. This course will emphasize the structural and functional relationships of the visceral organs of the thorax, abdomen, pelvis and head and neck regions of the body. The neurovascular supply of the visceral system will also be discussed. Students observe, discuss, teach, and learn cardiorespiratory, digestive, lymphatic, endocrine, integumentary, urinary, and reproductive systems in detail. Structures covered include the heart and blood vessels, lungs, mediastinum and the abdominal viscera, the alimentary organs and the genitourinary system. This course incorporates traditional didactic lectures, with discussions, observation of you-tube dissection and assignments that rely on critical and analytical thinking.
