Description

This course focuses on the identification, handling, and presentation of physical evidence in support of criminal investigations. In the context of investigating a mock criminal act, students will examine a crime scene and identify potential physical evidence for further examination. In conjunction with proper investigative processes, following investigative leads, and demonstrating an understanding of criminal procedure laws, students will develop investigative plans and develop crime theories based on the crime scene evidence. The culmination of this course will be a persuasive written argument by each student on whether charges may be submitted to a grand jury, which charges are applicable, and who may be charged.
Prerequisites: CR 281
Offered: Spring semester of odd numbered years.
